Current condition

The current wood deck structure shows significant deterioration. The new surface should tie into the existing patio and walkway style while improving safety, drainage, and long-term maintenance.

Old deck footprint
Before

Old deck footprint

Approx. 585–600 sq ft deck area to convert into a patio surface.

Rotted framing

Existing wood is past the point where repair makes sense.

Existing patio style

Dark gray stone/paver look to complement with the replacement design.

Site note: Existing concrete deck footings appear to protrude above grade. The most budget-friendly path is to incorporate or cover them only if final height, slope, drainage, and door clearance are safe.

Three customer options

Each option includes demolition/disposal allowance, labor, material sourcing, QDF company fee, project coordination, and a 5% Good-Faith Discount.

Option 1: Stamped Concrete — Bluestone Look

$17,900

The most affordable finished option. Decorative concrete can imitate a stone pattern from a distance.

  • Fastest install
  • Lowest upfront cost
  • Can crack over time
  • Repairs are more visible than pavers

Estimated materials

Final quantities depend on exact measurements, final patio height, selected paver thickness, drainage decisions, and whether existing footings are lowered or covered.

OptionMain MaterialsApproximate Quantities for 585–600 sq ft
Stamped ConcreteConcrete, reinforcement, color, stamp, sealer8–10 cubic yards concrete, mesh/rebar, color hardener/integral color, release, sealer
Large-Format Gray PaversBluestone-look concrete pavers, CR6, bedding sand, poly sand, edging600 sq ft pavers + waste, 18–22 tons CR6, 2–3 tons bedding sand, poly sand, edge restraints, geotextile fabric

Three vendor options to price-check

QDF will compare contractor pricing, wholesale opportunities, delivery cost, material availability, and color consistency before final ordering.

Bulk / Delivery

All Landscape Supply

Good candidate for bulk stone, pavers, and Montgomery County delivery.

Pavers / Stone

The Stone Store

Wide hardscape selection including pavers, natural stone, sand, gravel, and fire pit materials.

Contractor Supply

SiteOne Landscape Supply

Good for hardscape supplies, manufactured stone, pavers, aggregates, edging, and contractor purchasing.

Deal-hunting: Contractor closeouts, leftover pallets, and Marketplace/Craigslist can save money only if quantity, color, thickness, and condition match. Mixed pallets can look messy fast.

Payment and financing

Financing is optional and handled directly between the customer and provider. Final terms depend on lender approval and credit profile.

QDF recommendation

Recommended: Option 2 — Large-Format Gray Pavers. It gives the dark gray square/rectangle look they like, works well with the home’s brick and existing stone, lasts longer visually than stamped concrete, and is easier to repair later.

Most affordable: Option 1 — Stamped Concrete. It saves money up front, but cracking and visible repairs are the trade-off.

Most finished: Option 3 — Raised Patio + Seating Wall. Best if the family wants the space to feel like a true outdoor living room.
